It’s a long weekend in LA… Santa Monica beach is buzzing with celebrations… summer is almost over… it’s been a hot day and the sun is nearing the horizon… the water is cool… the mood playful… there’s a buzzing kinda energy in the air… we have excitement and anticipation in our hearts… we’ve started the big adventure that we’ve been talking about for months.
It’s nearly a year to the day since this was taken yet all those emotions come flooding back in a heartbeat when I look at this photo… I just love how photos can transport us.

This photo brings back my own memories of our trip to the U.S. when the kids were little. Stayed at the Hotel California on Santa Monica beach. There were walks along the pier and bike rides to Venice Beach and Marina del Ray.
